We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Regulatory Food Consultant to help guide the development of a unique line of edible body art products. This role ensures that all formulations, packaging, and labeling meet current food safety, cosmetic, and FDA regulations. You will be instrumental in bringing a safe, compliant, and innovative product to market.

Food Scientist / Product Development Specialist

(Freelance / Contract Role)

Role: Develops safe, effective, and marketable edible body art products that meet both food and cosmetic-grade standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Formulate edible paints, glazes, sprays, or adhesives that are skin-safe and delicious

  • Test for shelf-life, texture, application quality, and color vibrancy

  • Ensure products comply with FDA regulations and local food safety laws

  • Collaborate with creatives and packaging teams to refine product usability and appeal

  • Source food-safe ingredients and assist in production scaling

Skills:

  • Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field

  • Knowledge of emulsification, stabilizers, and preservatives

  • Familiarity with cosmetic regulations and allergen awareness

  • Experience developing consumable or cosmetic-grade products
